might be my prudish catholic upbringing jumping out but imho makeup companies shouldn’t name their products after explicit sexual terms
just my opinion but if the makeup industry is going to market towards young girls who haven’t even hit puberty yet and insist that they have hundreds of dollars worth of high end makeup then they cannot name their products things like ‘climax’ and ‘super orgasm’ or even make puns like ‘glow job’ or claim in bold letters that the mascara is ‘sex proof’ when these young girls have no idea what any of these terms mean and frankly they shouldn’t understand the meaning behind an eyeshadow called ‘daddy’s girl’ or a blush called deep throat it’s all part of the hyper-sexualization of young girls and it’s just getting worse and worse in this new age of instagram/youtube mua’s where girls as young as 8 years old are being pressured into having a beat face that makes them look my age
but that’s just my opinion
Also the makeup and skincare brands who seem to think it’s hilarious to call their neutral products “send nudes”
One of the worst things when I worked in cosmetics retail was the amount of mothers who would come in with their 10-12 year old daughters and insist on buying them full faces of makeup, and more than once picked the nars deep throat blush or the ‘super orgasm’ lip gloss. it was really uncomfortable when they insisted on knowing the colour names, even worse when they saw nothing wrong with it.
It’s been years. YEARS. Since the first time I saw this post. I just thought it was some fucked up pizza. I JUST realized that it’s Sonic the Hedgehog.
im sorry for making so many kitchen nightmares posts but i just watched an ep where a patron found sand in the food and the owner came out and explained that the sand was supposed to be there and he shouldn’t have ordered it if he didn’t want sand
This one time at work, I was training someone and the system froze so I decided to have some small talk and I asked her if she had any kids or anything (she was older) and she started crying. She asked me if it was cool if she went to take a walk to get some air and I told her okay because I mean what was I supposed to say? Anyways, she came back clearly still upset and told me that her husband left her for one of her daughters.
After that, I kept all my conversations strictly work related.
