Just to make a statement: I post about Warrior Cats, which can be seen as glorifying outdoor cats running wild.
I’d like to point out, however, that according to Warrior Cats, if you leave your cat out unsupervised, they will not only act as an invasive species and decimate indigenous bird and small mammal populations, they are at risk of injury, trauma, disease, violent death, and finding out that other cats can be racist
Hey there are Warrior cats with birds as the first part of their names, right? Aren’t there cats named things like Hawkfrost and Dovewing? And the second half of the name can be just about anything found in nature, right? This is a time-sensitive question—
PLEASE stop spreading misinformation on catmint/catnip. it is not “”“weed for cats”“” it is a cure to the deadly disease greencough and all medicine cats must have it to heal their possibly ill clanmates
i don’t remember anything about warrior cats but do you know how fucked up it’d be if you were out hiking and you came across like 300 feral cats pulling some game of thrones shit. reenacting the cat civil war. there’s blood and dead cats everywhere. they see you and just all bolt in opposite directions because they’re cats
is there like……a set time period that warrior cats takes place in? like it has to be after cars were invented, but are there any other indications of time period?
the idea that warrior cats could take place in like…..1960s england is fucking sending me honestly
Well, there was one point where Kate stated that she imagines Turtle Tail, one of the early settlers, was hit by a Ford Model T.
This car was first made in America in 1908, but boomed in popularity in the UK in 1911. So let’s say Turtle Tail died anywhere between 1915 to 1920, a good amount of time for the car to be bought by plenty of British citizens and get to the somewhat-rural area where the Clans were.
It was also stated in the 6th Erin Hunter Chat that, as of 2009, it had been around 60 years since the Tribe first formed. If the passing real life time correlates with the time in-universe, then it has now been about 70 years.
Now, Half Moon was the first Stoneteller and was still alive as of the beginning of DoTC. There’s no confirmation of her exact age when she left the lake or when she died. But let’s just say she was 8 or 9 at death, likely pretty old by Tribe terms (I imagine Tribe cats have lesser lifespans than Clan cats).
That’s about 6 to 7 years after the Tribe formed, plenty of time for the Tribe to get to the size it was at the time of DoTC.
The time from The Sun Trail to Path of Stars is about 2 years, with the latter ending in leaf-bare. Since Turtle Tail died during the preceeding greenleaf, this puts the Clans’ establishment at about one year afterwards.
So, as of the Clans’ beginning, it had been about 8 to 9 years after the Tribe began. Doing the math, this means Warriors’ current time period could be the late 1970s or early 1980s.
Now, this information could be incorrect, since the Erins aren’t the best at keeping stable timelines and a lot of this required estimation, but it’s the best I could come up with.
imagine if we woke up one day and all modern medicine was replaced with warrior cat herb knowledge
someone breaks their leg and the paramedics arrive. one pulls a huge wad of spider ass thread out and starts wrapping their leg while the other shoves a bunch of leaves into their mouth
