I guess I just didn’t like the feel of a redemption arc at all. It didn’t fit.

You guys realize Lotor’s betrayal was planned probably for most of his development right like have you read one damn interview? It was also obvious as shit like there’s no “poorly handled” that’s literally what his fucking character is there for like there can’t be a “handled badly” when there was probably at least an idea of this back when he was INTRODUCED.

The show is planned, at least vaguely, to completion, and has been for a while. They planned for that.

Also seriously you guys how did you not pick up on the fact he wasn’t genuine? Maybe it was just me but it really didn’t feel right and honestly you can hear the manipulation in his tone and he’s been a “I’ll take what I need to to get to my goal, even if it takes manipulation” type guy/villain from the beginning like none of this is truly surprising

And.. guys. He’s a well written villain. He’s one of the truly insidious villains. Honestly? A bit like Thanos. The goal is respectable enough, but the method is beyond questionable.

It’s just not surprising and honestly fits and works very well.
