haha isnt it so wild that less than a year ago josh keaton made a post on here asking people to stop sending death threats to him, his family, and the rest of staff? and people on this hellsite who dont watch voltron were so appalled by this and made posts about how the bad they felt for voltron staff for having to deal with harassment 24/7? and now those very same people are on here and twitter are doing shit like this and/or supporting this behavior because theyre angwy some side character who got less than 1 minute of screen time died in a show they dont even watch? I just think thats so funny haha

i find it so interesting how the fandom blows up when we get representation and they call it queer baiting instead of the rest of the show which could be called actual queer baiting. These people don’t even know what queer baiting means

“instead of the rest of the show which could be called actual queer baiting.”

Excuse me, what?

Bitch your ships not coming true isn’t queerbaiting die mad about it.

Honestly, I feel bad for the Voltron crew at this point, especially how the “fanbase” had been.

You and me both. And a lot of the time, it seems like the voice actors get targeted the most. I’ve seen so much bile thrown at Josh Keaton and Bex Taylor-Klaus that I’m starting to wonder if these people actually like the show at all.

I put off watching Legendary Defender for so long because of how notoriously awful it’s fandom has become over the past few years the show has been running. I have only just now begun watching it.

I keep hearing about Voltron all the time but I know nothing about the actual show or characters besides their names and debated ages, but I sure do know that it isn’t safe to ship any of them!

Buddy, it’s not safe to reblog from certain people, even if you yourself don’t talk about ships. It’s not even safe to just reblog the posts as you want. As I’ve learned.

Watch the show, don’t touch the fandom, or at least, do so carefully and just ignore the idiots when they decide you’re Doing Something Wrong.

Oh yeah, that too. But that’s also just a regular Tumblr thing as well. I got called out for following Ted because of someone she follows. Voltron fandom takes it to a whole new level though.

It’s definitely a Tumblr thing but I’ve really only experienced someone block me because I reblogged from someone who holds a particular opinion (even if I don’t and/or even mention the topic) in the Voltron fandom. I’ve been blocked for my own opinions before, but.. that’s not nearly as weird as expecting me to carefully monitor the OPs and who I reblog from when all I’ve ever wanted with Voltron is to be able to reblog the occasional scene I liked and maybe an edit here or there. Not to get roped into bullshit.

It is, however, possible to avoid a lot of the bullshit and just kind of do what you want. I just don’t really pay attention to people/posts who want to make drama, in general but also with Voltron.

Honestly, I feel bad for the Voltron crew at this point, especially how the “fanbase” had been.

i love voltron. like actually, completely, unironically. fuck all the ships and discourse and fandom. i love the show. the animation and the backgrounds and the whole concept of giant fucking robot lions in space, dude. aliens and black holes and cool planets and galaxies. friendship and found family and bonding. i love that shit. sometimes it’s easy to forget that the show itself is actually pretty fucking incredible when ur constantly being bombarded with fandom bullshit but like. man. i love voltron.
