One thing that a lot of transmasc people struggle with before they fully realize they’re trans is the question of “do I hate being treated like a woman because women are treated like shit, or do I hate being treated like a woman because I’m not a woman?”

and one method (though not entirely foolproof) to figuring that out is asking “would I be upset if another girl was treated like this?”

like, I’d be just as mad if some dude said “you can’t do math because you’re a girl” to a female classmate as I would if he said it to me

however, I never got uncomfortable at waiters calling my female friends “m’am”, I was only uncomfortable when they called *me* that

and obviously everyone’s feelings are different and there’s tons of variables at play, but if you find that there’s a lot of the second scenario going on with you, there’s a good chance you’re not entirely cis

What a great day to remember that no one fakes being trans and saying that people are “transtrenders” is incredibly harmful to people that think they might be trans because they’re too scared of “faking it” to explore their identity

whogivesa-ship:

In case you’re curious, I personally think all transmed/truscum discourse is automatically invalid because nobody has a right to decide another person’s gender. Is being trans defined by having gender dysphoria? Do trenders exist? Doesn’t matter, you don’t get a say in how anyone else identifies. You might define your transgender experience by the presence of gender dysphoria, but that doesn’t apply to anyone but you because you’re not the gender police going around deciding how everybody has to define trans. The experience of simply being human is different for each and every person, why would gender identity be any different?

I’ve talked about this before but the idea that “transtrenders” are gonna use up a limited supply of hrt is so funny because literally the number of cis people taking hrt outnumbers the number of trans people taking it by like. At least a factor of ten. It is not an uncommon treatment

plus like. we don’t have to find estrogen deposits and drill for it. we make it. if more people use it, we can make more.
