If an autistic person overexplains something to you they probably don’t think you’re dumb they just think THEY would appreciate those details if they were the ones being explained to

A lot of things that seem obviously implicit in speech AREN’T obvious to autistic people. So we inherently think it’s necessary to specify things that might seem transparent to neurotypical people because usually WE’RE the ones who need those explanations

hot take: hrt, gender therapy and trans surgeries should be free

if cis people don’t have to pay to have a body that doesn’t make them dysphoric, neither should trans people

So by that logic does that mean that I should get anti-depressants and all the other pills for my mental issues for free because the people who don’t suffer from them don’t have to pay to have them?

yes

And does that mean that corrective lenses should also be free, because people with good vision don’t need to pay to see clearly, and that devices to aid in mobility for people with limited mobility (from crutches to (practical) canes to wheelchairs to prosthetics) should also be free, because people who don’t have limited mobility don’t need to pay for them?

yes? why does everyone in the notes keep trying to come up with gotchas lmao everything to do with healthcare should be free

Then by that logic, healthy food and clean water should be free because without food and water we will die. Also, without water, hygiene will be minimal therefore increasing the chances of disease.

Yes. People should have access to a healthy happy life and the whole point of a society is to support eachother and work together. how brainwashed by capitalism are you to think food and water shouldn’t be free in an ideal world.

this post is such a wild ride every time. ‘so by this logic, people should have free access to the things they need to live and survive?????????’ like yes bitch, all of it !!!

Once upon a time the earth belonged to everyone and noone and people took what meagre sustenance they could from the world around them. Now that growing food and purifying water has never been easier people are literally starving to death because they don’t have enough metal disks to exchange for them

Once upon a time people took exactly what they needed from the earth, and far from being meagre sustenance it was more than enough. We don’t need capitalism to feed ourselves. Hell, we don’t even need all its fancy industry to feed ourselves. All we need is a garden and each other.

What about the people who make the hormones? What about the doctors? Do they not deserve to be compensated for their labour?

Taxes, which are a percentage of income, are used to fund government services.

And what’s stopping the government from taking 95% of the taxes and only giving peanuts to the doctors? Or worse, not compensating them at all?

Plus government run facilities are almost always underfunded in practice anyway. Compare government hospitals to private hospitals. Government schools to private schools. The difference is night and day.

I mean it actually doesn’t matter where you go to school because more is placed on other circumstances of your upbringing but the underfunded nature of schools is because either A. Funds are being allocated to schools inappropriately B. The government is budgeting more for other things lol. The reason any public school would be “bad” is because they’re underfunded by the government

I don’t trust the government. However, the government should keep everyone alive

And that’s actually EXTREMELY capitalist, as it frees up more time and monetary power from people to contribute more to the economy. So.

You know I don’t think this point has been brought up but there’s something different about jailbreaking an iPhone to get functionality baked into Android and jailbreaking something like a Switch. Because with a game console, at least I don’t personally expect that much out of it outside of playing the game, but with a phone? Something I use every day? That has the potential to reach into a lot of various functions I might need, and restrict my choice there? Yeah, I think that’s different. I onlu use my Switch if I want to play games, so it’s no big deal. But phone is an everything device, so something about restricting users’ choice doesn’t sit right with me.

Maybe he’s ordering a decaf because he has a heart condition, and you’re about to give him a heart attack and send him to the hospital.

Or maybe he’s just ordering a decaf.

Maybe she’s ordering sugar free because she’s diabetic, and you’re about to put her six feet under.

Or maybe she’s just ordering sugar free,

Maybe they’re ordering non-dairy because they’re intolerant, and you’re about to ruin their day. Maybe they’re allergic, and you’re about to sponsor an all black event in an open field.

Or maybe they’re just ordering non-dairy.

Maybe they ordered gluten free because they can’t process it, and you’re about to destroy their digestive tract.

Or maybe they’re just ordering gluten free.

Maybe they’re ordering this way just because they don’t want the food, for whatever reason.

But are you willing to bet their life on it?

#also in the reverse#they might need the caffeine for a headache#they might be allergic to soy or almonds and need real dairy#they might have low blood sugar and need the boost#there are no safe assumptions when it comes to what people eat#even if it will just make them a little sick you’re still making them sick#just give people what they ask for
