And the thing is Mark wasn’t magically born as rich. He had to work and work hard. Editing videos, making sure you are making sense, being entertaining on camera is no easy job, and it takes hours upon hours of effort and time. Being a star on youtube is about the same chance as making it big in Hollywood i.e. slim to none.

He had the talent though, he has a very excellent voice, good looks, he has taken care of himself and thus made the daring investment in recording equipment to try at making a career with his passion for games.

As a gamer, I can bet money the reason he has such a passion for gaming isn’t just because gaming is fun but because he probably found gaming to be a very vital mechanism for him to cope with some very tough situations in his life. I know I have. I feel like a lot of gamers have found gaming to be that – a cathartic escape, a mechanism for coping, a way to reorient your mind and even be able to help yourself problem-solve.

Mark is literally one of the nicest people on the damn internet. He’s talked to suicidal fans, always trying to find ways of being there for people and finding ways of encouraging people to make it through hard times. He is a genuinely kind person and this is coming from someone who doesn’t even watch his content

The point isn’t the assignment of gender to objects, though that is ridiculous. The point is that people do that while at the same time ignoring real peoples’ genders. I thought that was fairly straightforward.

I’m not saying that it’s okay, but that’s why. It’s more natural for humans to do that to understand the world. Again, it’s not okay, but that’s why.

Really? Not one single person that read this post didn’t understand personification. That, again, was not the point. The point, again, is the disrespect towards trans people, specifically trans women, that places their actual gender lower than the perceived gender of objects. We know why. We know it’s not okay.
