the public school system in the US obviously sucks but private school makes it look like heaven. i’m not a rich kid (so sad) but got into a private school once (the one where my mom made me pretend to be rich) and it was so fucking weird and straight up dangerous. like, zero regulation and care for the safety of students whatsoever. I literally almost cut off my thumb with a saw once. in the winter they let us go sledding in icy conditions and I fell off the sled, dragging my face across the ice. I wasn’t even sent to the nurse’s office or helped in any way whatsoever, and my face was fucked up for a while. also, the field trip we went on fucking sucked, there was AGAIN no care for students’ safety (we were fucking 12-13 years old ffs) and I easily got the swine flu then for an hour had anti vaxxers try and cure me with honey before my parents picked me up and brought me to the hospital.

as for the curriculum, it was college-level for some reason and we were expected to just understand that shit with no preparation at all. also, do you have any sort of medical condition? good luck getting the school to care AT ALL.

overall, this was the most uncomfortable experience i’ve had at a school, and i’ve been to several other schools, so it’s not like I only had one for comparison. even my town’s school where kids openly dealt drugs and beat each other up was more bearable.

anyway, let’s just say when I see a news story today about a private school doing something fucked up i’m not surprised at all.

anyone else feel free to share their experiences if you ever went to a private school. i’m curious about how it was for actual rich kids, too. were you treated better, or could your parents get the school to change its actions?

MINE WAS CHRISTIAN TOO OMG!!!! we had to do this weird ritual before lunch and you always *had* to pray a lot.
