When I was a kid I was always really annoyed by 90s kids because they weren’t that much older than me but they always treated the age difference like it was enormous when it was maybe 3 years at most. They were always like “oh, you were born in 2000, you never saw rugrats or invader zim, what a loser” and I was like “I have too seen those and I have a tamagotchi and a furby too, you’re not special you’re just mean” and to this day I still kinda wanna throw a VHS at them
yeah i’m really not a big fan of uppity 90’s kids who think their childhood was better than anyone else’s. i’m not a big fan of anyone who shames younger people for their unique pop culture/interests/music/etc. for that matter. just let people enjoy what they enjoy and be nostalgic over what makes them nostalgic, you know?
My boyfriend didn’t go to university until he was 28 because he didn’t feel anywhere near ready when he was 18. He graduated with first-class honours, went on to do a Masters, and is now a history teacher. It’s so much more important to do things when you’re able to fully commit to them and do them to the best of your ability than to rush to do them by an imaginary deadline.
American students: our educational system is shit and we hate it, this is torture not learning

My favorite thing about the multicultural nature of Tumblr is watching people from other countries learn that America is much, much worse than they ever dreamed.

No. A lot of people will complain that they’re forced to.. and I’m sure they’re telling the truth because I was almost forced to once.. but no. Technically you have the First Amendment right to not participate, though who knows with the current trend.
Anyway it came from wars and shit like 9/11 it’s bad but it’s not like it came up without cause, I don’t really give a shit about America as far as that goes but it makes sense to want your country united during a time like that, and personally that seems like a pretty good way. It quickly gets into dictatorship stuff and while the US sucks I don’t think you can honestly call it a dictatorship, yet anyway.
It’s still stupid but.. it’s wild to me that having the flag in a room is weird to people. I mean in thinking about it.. I guess? But like. You honestly rarely think about it, even if you do live in a school where teachers get asshurt over someone exercising their right to not participate in the anthem/pledge.
