Okay SO I don’t think I’ve had as much respect for “does the dog die” as I do right now because

They have a lot of common triggers (animal death, people death, gore, dismemberment, alcohol, drugs, etc) but they also have these??? And honestly??? Respect???

(Ignore the “yes/no” I was looking up a specific movie)

im super jazzed that the caretaker’s work has become a tiktok challenge because not only is it hauntingly beautiful but it’s also exposing new folks to old music and old music is Great, but i wish people would stop going “omg people with dementia hum along to these songs but they’ve NEVER HEARD THEM BEFORE!!1!” because damn near every song is sampled from actual ballroom music from the 20′s-40′s, it’s entirely likely they heard this music in their youth and retained the memory since music is one of the last things you forget. the first track is sampled from Al Bowlly’s Heartaches and is one of my favorite songs.

anyway i’m working on a playlist that’s the source music for all six parts of “everywhere at the end of time”, it’s only stage 1 right now but i’m gonna keep adding to it.

When writing always remember… a character flaw is only a flaw until becomes useful.

Is your protagonist manipulative? Well that’s awful… until they manipulate the antagonist into making a decision that saves the lives of their friends.

Is your protagonist a skeptic? Well that’s not good… until someone tries to lie to them.

Is your protagonist overprotective? That sucks… until someone they love is in danger.

Is your protagonist remorseless? Well that makes them pretty unlikeable… until a hard decision has to be made.

ADHD tips from my school counselors:

  • “You need to create a study routine!”
  • “You need to stop fidgeting…you’re distracting yourself!”
  • “Get more exercise and take your meds!”
  • “Stop procrastinating!”

ADHD tips from my friends with ADHD:

  • “I eat one chocolate chip for every page I read.”
  • “I can only study by playing the gravity game on the Quizlet website. I need to beat my friend’s high score.”
  • “Every ten minutes I get up, put on one song by Taylor Swift, and wiggle around until I feel better.”
  • “Instead of checkboxes, I draw little flowers next to each task, and after I finished the task, I color in the flower in a fun color.”

fun fact about me is that when i was a kid id write capital E’s with as many of those little horizontal lines as possible and id call them ladder E’s and adults fucking hated them

artistic rendition

All capital letters should have a leveled-up form

So far I’ve got

  • ladder letters: A, E, F, H, T
  • humpback B’s and P’s get as many bumps as you think they need
  • circle O’s, you just keep spiraling in til you feel like you’ve made your point
  • tree letters branch into smaller versions of themselves ad nauseum: X, Y
  • spider Q’s, so many legs

Please add your own unsettling godtier capitals!

All letters of the alphabet, rendered as abominations.

New alphabet dropped!

This is not a place of honor.

oh my god, it’s beautiful

(future handwritten notes are gonna be so wonderfully cursed now, thank you! 😀 )

well it’s going to take some getting used to, @ceekari (don’t mind the redacted letter between T and U)

But I think i’ve taken a real shine to it!

The thing about the spoiler feature on discord is that it appears very few people are taught how to use it in a helpful way.

If someone in your server needs things about school covered up, writing “I don’t wanna go to ||school|| today” is not helpful. You have not indicated the reason why it is being covered up, so the person who needs school mentions censored is probably gonna click on it so they can be part of the conversation, not realizing that it’s the conversation they want to avoid.

Typing in something like “My sister tested positive for ||covid||” is senseless too, because everyone can guess what’s under there, including the members of the server who might have asked for stuff about covid to be censored.

A better way that makes more sense is “(school) ||I don’t wanna go to school today||” or “(covid) ||my sister tested positive for covid||”

It’s so easy and necessary to tag the reason why it is being covered up so that the people who might be triggered by it know to avoid it and don’t have to guess every time someone uses the spoiler feature. And if you are only covering up the one word in the message that relates to the thing that needs censored, it’s not very helpful either if that one word can be easily guessed by the context around it.

I know it’s easy to forget sometimes, we’re all only human, but it’s important to put as much effort as we can into respecting the needs of our online friends

This is definitely not a google drive full of the sleep stuff from the Headspace app, including sleepcasts, music, and wind down meditation, that normally costs 17.99 a month, no siree and you definitely shouldnt share this with people

and here’s a link that does not lead to a google drive full of tv shows movies + books and also does not contain a shortcut to the above

this is absolutely not a link to another google drive with shows + movies + audio books either nope no sir

@timetravellingcactus cause for some reason I’m not able to send this to you

the goog drive directory titled “the library” is transferring to a different platform soon so hustle on that one!

this absolutely isnt a google drive of the imdb top 250 movies

and this couldn’t possibly lead you to even more books!

these arent musical bootlegs… what do you mean?

«At the Internet Archive, this is how we digitize a book. We never destroy a book by cutting off its binding. Instead, we digitize it the hard way—one page at a time. We use the Scribe, a book scanner our engineers invented, along with the software that it runs. Our scanning centers are located in universities and libraries around the world, from Boston Public Library to the University of Toronto to the Wellcome Library and beyond. Eliza is one of our fastest and most accurate scanners. Next she will execute quality control checks and fix any errors. Then she ships the book back to our Physical Archive for long-term preservation. Now imagine this: scanners like Eliza have done this 2,000,000 times. That’s what it takes to provide you with a free digital library.» – Plus Internet Archive’s Modern Book Collection Now Tops 2 Million Volumes, by
