There are a lot of absolute idiots in the comments saying things like “a good dog will never hurt a baby” and “the child is never to blame if the dog attacks” and “special snowflakes call everything abuse”
Listen here you fucktards: dogs. Are not. Fucking. People. They don’t operate by human logic. They don’t follow human moral codes. It has nothing to do with it being a “good dog“ or not. If you were getting hit and pulled on and punched and scratched constantly, you just might react. A dog can’t speak up and say “hey please stop that you’re hurting me“. What he can do is move, lunge, bite, etc. These actions might intentionally or unintentionally harm your child. Use your fucking head and don’t let your kid beat up on your dog no matter how many times he’s “taken it” before; you never know when he might snap. Don’t teach your kids it’s OK to treat animals like punching bags and they’ll never react. That’s immensely unfair to both the animal and the child. You could have a hurt or dead child and a euthanized dog because you were fucking dumbass who thought the dogs were just there to be treated like toys.
Same goes for cats and any other pet. Teach your child how to properly treat animals or don’t have any fucking animals.
I’m adding to this because y’all gonna learn some shit about housing your pets.
Someone make more I love this new meme.
I know that huge homes are great for pets but also did it fucking occur to you that some people don’t have the room or money for those?
hey, guess what. those are all minimum requirements. actually, the person who added onto my post even made the bird cage still TOO small for those birds.
and if you dont have the money or the space for those pets, don’t fucking get the pet.
I’ve been telling everyone I know for YEARS not to buy Blue Buffalo.
This is the short story:
A few years ago I took my sick cat, Ankh, to the vet. The vet and vet tech asked what I fed her. I told them Blue Buffalo. They looked like I had just told them I fed her razor blades and cyanide. They diagnosed her with pancreatitis and said that nearly all of the cats they’d been seeing lately with pancreatitis were being fed Blue Buffalo. They gave her medicine and sent her home. Two days later she had a seizure and died right in my arms.
The day after she died Hannibal started displaying the same symptoms she had so I panicked hard and took him to the vet. Got the same meds and the same diagnosis. Luckily Hannibal survived.
I wish Ankh had survived. She was only ten and the best cat I’ve ever had. Literally the best and five years later I still cry when I think about her.
FUCK BLUE BUFFALO.
I don’t know the full story behind the tweets above, but a Google search shows there HAVE been several recalls regarding this brand, especially in 2016. I would absolutely avoid as it is not worth the risk.
Good god thank you so much for sharing this because I’ve lately been considering switching to this brand cus it’s supposed to be so much better than all the others but good god what the hell.
I worked in a vet for a little while and I shit you not, when a dog came in with constant diarrhea they were always eating Blue Buffalo. We changed the food and the dog got better every time. Blue Buffalo is garbage food and never feed it to your pets.
I’ve never heard of this brand but I love my dog with all of my heart and I’d be broken if I ever accidently fed her this and got her sick (people give me different dog food to try all the time). I’d hate for anyone else to lose their pet also.
um?? what the fuck? holy FUCK my boyfriend and I were just about to start feeding our cat blue buffalo omg
Wft really?? Im never going to buy that killer food!! Praying for your pets!
I’m so glad I know this, I’d be heartbroken if my dog died
There happened to be a big sale on blue buffalo at my local pet store so naturally I thought I’d try it. 2 days into the new food, one of my dogs started having these weird mini seizures. And this is the dog who ate half a plate of brownies with no side affects. Naturally I freaked but then I realized that the only thing that had changed was the food so as soon as I Switched back to the original kibble, he was perfectly fine within 24 hours. Since then I always warn my friends NEVER BUY BLUE BUFFALO.
This is serious. Most bites actually happen with familiar dogs, and parents in the same room. You are setting your dog up to fail by placing it in these situations. Let’s try to set everyone up for success instead!
How about animal shelters stop publically shaming people for surrendering their animals.
A sudden job loss can mean being suddenly homeless.
Not everyone can care for their late spouse’s or their late parents’ pets, for a variety of reasons. I can tell you right now that God forbid something happens to my parents, but if they had to go to a nursing home or died, I would not be able to nor want to keep their pets.
The new baby could have health issues that take precedent over the care of the dogs. Babies have sensitive lungs. An allergy or breathing disorder triggered by pet dander could kill them.
The sudden loss of a home could mean that now you’re stuck having to move… but no one in your area has pet friendly housing. Or if they do, good luck getting through the pet size limits, number restrictions, and breed restrictions. Or a massively unreasonable pet deposit.
Shaming people does nothing except reflect poorly on your shelter and deter people from giving up their pets to you, which increases the likelihood of the animals being dumped somewhere.
“They could have found a home privately or gone through a rescue!”
That takes time and rescues are often very picky about what they will take in.
Yes, many animals are surrendered because people are irresponsible or ignorant. But calling out the owners on social media is not going to benefit anyone in any way, shape, or form.
I legitimately do not understand why a vegan who’s dedicated to pursuing a 100% vegan lifestyle, to the point where they want their pets on a vegan diet as well, do not. just. keep. naturally vegan pets.
Rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, tortoises, iguanas, a fucking horse, for fucks sake!
Like. My god, you have so many options for pets that literally CAN’T eat meat! Why would you insist on keeping a predator, if you can’t stomach the idea that they’re goddamn predators??
Do you have any idea how goddamn loving a hamster can be? Would you like to know what it feels like when a bunny asks you for cuddles?
Vegan pets are a thing. Animals that literally only eat plant matter are a thing.
You don’t have to torture dogs and cats to live a purely vegan lifestyle. Go buy a fucking guinea pig.
