I think the Tumblr NFT thing is their April fools thing? like they just used the acronym to make something funny I dont thing they’re real

kayvsworld:

i know thats what ive been saying

but im seeing posts about how like….if you click the Make A Goofy Tumblr Monster button its generating a REAL NFT so NO ONE DO IT and im trying to understand how, theoretically, that would even work. and why. like why would they do that why am i seeing info posts about it from people taking it very very seriously. im trying 2 get the logic here

u realize those tmblr cryptid things are nf/t right? I generated one bc I liked mine too and only later after posting did I realize it had THAT automatic tag. I deleted it immediately.

kayvsworld:

if u click on the big banner that says “NFTs are here” on the dash itll direct u to the big long tumblr explanation, which is that they’re “Non-Fungible Tumblcryptids (NFT)” and its an april fools day joke and theyre not actual NFTs

faustocosgrove:

I thought this year’s april fools day joke from staff was like, a less funny version of that memories blog from however many years ago but like, people really think they’re NFTs. and if that doesn’t make you lay your head down in your hands like that picard meme, then the tumblr staff blog for the joke NFTs reblogs a post criticizing tumblr staff for doing these stupid jokes instead of fixing the search function. and if that doesn’t leave you laying on the floor wondering what’s gone so wrong with the internet that this is as much of a usable website as we can get, there’s posts complaining about the joke NFTs from staff not having a tone warning on it as if today isn’t fucking april fools day. i mean i don’t know what to say to anyone who genuinely wants there to be tone indicators on april fools day jokes.
