In Minecraft, there’s a server called The Uncensored Library. A team of 24 activists from 16 countries created it as a way to spread the uncensored truth in countries where freedom of the press is most restricted.

Their partners included Reporters Without Borders, MediaMonks, Blockworks, and the German marketing company Doyle Dane Bernbach, or DDB.

However, it’s not just a long row of bookshelves. The Uncensored Library is a neoclassical building made with 12.5 million blocks. It has several gardens and decorative features, like a rotunda featuring flags of the world, and a ceiling with a world map.

There are thousands of articles, sorted into halls by nation of origin. There is information from all 180 countries on the press freedom index, with five special halls dedicated to countries that are especially unfriendly to journalists They include Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, and Egypt.

The Library is defended against interference by 24/7 monitoring, and it’s free to download in single-player mode.

This just blows my mind due to the amazing work and thought put into this.

Minecraft is a damn good game
