The constant use of mirrors and camera angles that take advantage of portraying Omni-man’s expressions from two different sides and using animation as a style to highlight different points of tension in the same expression from DIFFERENT ANGLES SO YOU CAN SEE HIM FROM WHAT HE’S FEELING VS SENDING OUT.
Incredible. Magnificent.
And this is something that really only animation can do smoothly. When it’s done with film it always reads a little more obvious. Like the angle is obviously different or the expressions are from two different takes. But here it’s just,, the subtle change of angle, a slight change to the pinch of a brow.
This shot reminds me that there are two different audiences throughout the show: Omni-man’s in-world audience, and us, the viewers.
