What is the name of the medical procedure where they put gel on you and scan you with a stick thing. They also put some tabs on you that used to hurt to have taken off but are slightly less painful now.
Edit: ultrasound
Y’all talk so much about how it’s okay to take medication which is great but what about people who chose not to take it for their own reasons, like it not working for them or the cons outweighing the pros for them? It’s also okay to not take medication. Just because there’s nothing wrong with something doesn’t mean you have to do it.
Pro tip: 18mg of melatonin is too much. It will not help you sleep better, it will put you in a state where you feel awake while “sleeping” and your dreams will be really fucking vivid, like you’ll think they’re real life. You’ll wake up just as tired as you were when you went to bed. 9mg at the most is enough, just consult your doctor if you’re taking this shit longterm and don’t be a stupid. It’s not gonna kill you if you take too much, but fuckkk my mouth tastes awful. Just don’t do it. Don’t.
I saw a post about the effects of stopping certain medications anyway melatonin is a drug you’re supposed to occasionally not take apparently so your body doesn’t adapt to it so you don’t have to keep taking more.
So if you’re taking it long term take occasional breaks basically.
I take breaks by forgetting to take my meds. Like… almost every night.
That works then

Going on anti depressants doesn’t mean you’re weak. It just means you need some help in that department, and there’s nothing wrong with needing a little help.
And before anyone says shit I know full well that some mental disorders and some people require medication to be even remotely functional, that’s not what I’m saying at all
I hate that “if you can’t make your own neurotransmitters store bought is fine” argument
Because yes, it’s right, but also,
There are coping mechanisms you can learn. Jesus.
I don’t know if that’s my own personal refusal to take it showing, but I’d hate to become dependent on a medicine. I really would.
It’s fine I guess if you are and don’t mind but don’t act like it’s completely impossible to figure out how to work without it.
So… yes. But it’s also okay to use other, non medical, ways to deal with problems.
The one time I did take meds for an issue, I was forced to do it and when I wanted to stop because the dose was way to small to have any effect whatsoever, I was yelled at like I committed a sin.
So basically I’ll do therapy I guess, I mean the chances that I’d actually listen are pretty slim but I would, but I wouldn’t do meds because of that. Also personally if I did recover from something I’d like to do it without the help of meds. No issue with people who do want to take them, it just goes against what I personally would want to do.
Surgeon Al-Zahrawi (936–1013 CE) from Cordoba in the Muslim kingdom of al-Andalus, was one of the most famous physicians of the middle ages. He invented many medical instruments, and wrote the first surgical textbook which included illustrations like the one above. It was not just a textbook, however. The Kitab al-Tasrif is a 30-chapter treatise on multiple areas of medicine, including surgery, dentistry, and childbirth.
