Everyone hates common core. It’s retarded math devised by social scientists.

What’s common core?

Federal government run education.
I don’t know exactly who implemented it, but it’s been a disaster. Kids are dropping out more than ever, failing more than ever, etc. Everybody I know hates it. (I think it was Obama, because he also implemented “No Child Left Behind”, WHICH IS ALSO A FUCKING FAILURE)
At my school we have “standards based grading”, where they grade you on standards instead of how well you did on the test.
For example, let’s say I have a test that’s about multiplication and division in math. You have C, B, and A level problems.
C problems are usually just regular easy problems, the basis. (In my example, 3×4 or 5/1 may be on there)
B is usually a harder version of above problems.
A is applying a problem, such as “Lina has 5 by 10 apples. How many apples does she have?” Or something like that. They’re usually story problems.
Now let’s say I got 1 of the C level questions wrong accidentally, as mistakes happen in math. I got the rest of the test 100%.
I cannot get an A, or even a B at that point because “I missed one of the standards”, even though I got the test perfect besides that.
It’s fucking insanity.
PLUS if you fail even ONE of the standards, you have to retake the WHOLE CLASS.
We actually have a sheet outside a math room (my homeroom) that kids are signing to get rid of standards based grading, at least in math.

I forgot to add this, but they’re also teaching elementary kids math in one of the shittiest ways ever. I don’t know how they do it now, but I’ve watched videos of how they do it now. It’s so back asswords it’s ridiculous.

Minor slip there, but common core is absolutely the worst education system. Luckily most AP classes are free from that garbage because they are prepping for that test and can deviate from the regular syllabus.

Hence why I take as many AP/Honors classes as I can without drowning.

I’ve just braced the coming flood. I take 4 AP classes and one honors

I’m taking 2 APs next year.
Bio and US History

APUSH was fun. AP world was rough tho

Yeah, I think I’m taking World or HUG senior year. Can’t decide yet.
If I take World I’ll have the same history teacher for 3 years in a row, I think. Depending if they change teachers or not.

APUSH was a blast. Euro was alright. Currently taking APGOV, which for me is fucking awesome since my major will be political science.

Oh, and I also took APLaC and am currently taking AP Stat, which are ok.

I took Gov last year. Im taking Euro currently

The only AP class I’m in is a literal joke of an AP class.

I’m not in a single hard class this year, and I’m counting honors chemistry (it’s easy as shit, even the math isn’t remotely hard yet).
