telelance:

lance’s development

a lot of people are asking me and hating me because i said that lance’s role this season, however disappointing it was to some of you, was necessary. (this is going to be short)

here we have him being upsetti spaghetti about lotor and allura and its where he says our favorite line “im just a boy from cuba, not a space prince like lotor” yay!

he hasn’t done much yet though except be upset.

he’s still upset here, as allura leaves their game in order to help lotor, and he’s valid for it. he cares about allura a lot. he says that hes never liked someone the way he likes allura and i think That is development because hes starting to realize what its like to have your heart broken. like he said “im the one who’s supposed to be breaking hearts”, hes getting a taste of what hes been giving.

next we have the part where they have officially been betrayed by lotor and allura is the one with her heart broken

what lance says here is very mature, i think he is not only comforting her, but also reflecting on his own actions. this moment signifies not only growth in their relationship but also that lance will be taking more charge in the next season. also, yes lance has been seen comforting many characters throughout the show and people are upset about this, but i think its realistic. he loves loving other people and his role as the encourager and comforter is very important.

and next we have the scene where hes crying about shiro

this scene is also very important to lance’s arc! how so? because im not sure he realized how important his role is. now he realizes that people need him, and people confide in him and that makes him strong. he has the ability to help others. i think that when shiro told lance about what was going on, lance might have been doubtful that he could do anything about it. now he sees that he can help and will help in the future.

so yeah. lance did develop in season six
