actually!! this reminds me: i was thinking of the contrast between keith in the BOM ep here:
keith was so affected by his words, you can really see the internal struggle going on inside.
now that he’s 2 years older though and has bonded with his mom, understood the reasons why she left, i think he’s been able to find a lot of inner healing during those 2 years. those abandonment issues can slowly start closing up and he’s maturing and becoming more whole in this aspect.
so when clone shiro under the influence of haggar taunts him this time, keeping in mind that haggar tells kuron that he can use keith’s weakness against him, keith doesn’t waver this time.
he’s more secure now in his mother’s love and i think, as a side result, in the real shiro’s love (platonic or not) for him as well, he doesn’t even bat an eye at these taunts. he just goes straight to “I’m not leaving here without you.”
his love for shiro (platonic or not, but come on it’s seriously bordering something deeper than the common brotherly relationship) goes beyond everything and if that’s not true love, idk what is
loved how steadfast he was in the face of those taunts.
