Okay I’m going to try not to get emotional about this as I respond to the comments/questions I got on this post because some of yall are actually genuinely confused but the other half of yall are just being rude.
A hybrid is a mix of two species. A liger is a hybrid. So is a mule.
The key thing that your referencing right now is animals, not human beings. Keith is still a person, regardless of being part Galra, you can’t compare those two things.
You know how Allura isn’t technically black (because they are an alien) but is black coded? Regardless of the fact that Allura is an alien, she is representation in media
for black people. Keith is a character that has an entire arc dedicated to him figuring out and accepting that he is part Galra. I can’t speak for other biracial people, but personally I relate to that story of accepting that you aren’t just one race or the other, but that your both and that isn’t a bad thing.
Keith, by being part human part alien, is biracial coded, and thus calling him a hybrid is rude.

Keith may not be real, but fiction does affect reality. Calling him a hybrid will affect the words that people use to describe real biracial people.
And this isn’t about Keith’s feelings, this is about my feelings as a biracial person. You right, Keith isn’t a real person with feelings, sure, but then again, this comment wasn’t made in Keith’s reality, so this doesn’t affect him. Keith is my representation, and so hearing biracial coded characters be dehumanized is an issue for me and other real biracial people.

Galra isn’t a race it’s a species, human isn’t a race it’s a species. A combination of species is a hybrid. Keith may be biracial/mixed/whatever on the human part, but he’s a hybrid. He’s two species. The arc can be compared to human race things but Keith is a hybrid. It’s just a fact. It’s not racist.
Keith is an animal. So is everyone else in Voltron. Hybrid is the technical term for two species.
Allura having to “come to terms” with Keith being part of a species that destroyed her planet can be compared to racism and mixed race issues, but ultimately, it is still between three species (human, galra, altean), not human races.
Calling Keith a hybrid is not AT ALL the same as calling a mixed race person a hybrid.
