I’m going to come out and say this! I don’t care who’s feelings I hurt! Here I go! ISIS is bad in my opinion! There I go, I said it! Sorry, but this is the type of honesty we need in this day and age!
ISIS IS BAD. We’re literally all the same page with that one.
ISIS IS NOT ISLAM. THEY CLAIM TO BE. THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FAITH. YOU THINK MONSTERS LIKE THAT HAVE A GOD? OF COURSE YOU DO, YOU’RE A DAMN FOOL.
VETTING FOR TERRORISM IS A SMART THING TO DO. OBVIOUSLY. FORTUNATELY FOR YOU- THAT IS HAPPENING.
MUSLIM DOES NOT EQUAL ISIS
YOUR COUNTRY BANNED MUSLIMS BECAUSE YOUR GOVERNMENT IS FILLED WITH RACIST COWARDS WHO DON’T KNOW DICK ABOUT SHIT AND WOULD RATHER BE HATEFUL THAN GET THE FACTS RIGHT ABOUT ANYTHING
IF YOU’RE A MUSLIM IN AMERICA
HOLY SHIT. I AM SO SORRY.
A terror group called “[the] Islamic State” led by a PhD of Islamic theological study…. isn’t islamic.
Okie dokie.
Alright but different sects of the same religion often consider other sects not true members of their faith because of differing interpretations of holy text. I mean there was a period in English history that was all about people being oppressed by the Catholics for being Protestants, and then by the Protestants for still being Catholic…
They’re not exactly wrong for feeling this way. ISIS’ leaders believe they follow the Qu’ran but the rest (non-radical members) of Islam believe they’re going against scripture. And I don’t think they’re wrong about that.
TBH one of America’s founding principles was that you should be able to live here and practice whatever faith you choose without interference or repression from the Government, and Trump’s actions directly violate that. This is no longer about “removing illegal immigrants as per a law that already existed” or “vetting immigrants from terrorist heavy regions as has been done by the previous 2 administrations.”
I just hate it when people jump on any anti-Trump post and snipe any part of it that’s debatable and completely ignore the valid parts. Y’all ain’t gotta hate liberals that damn hard.
This isn’t entirely true though. A lot of “““““moderate”““““ Muslims do not condemn ISIS, and they have in fact on more than one occasion knowingly harboured ISIS terrorists. Did you think ISIS only commits attacks and atrocities in regions they control in the Middle-East? Did you think only ISIS affiliated Muslims commit such attacks? Because you’d be wrong on both accounts.
It has been reported that large numbers of Muslims
(which is to say, in the neighbourhood 70% of respondents, if I recall correctly)
in Europe would not inform authorities if they knew about a terrorist in their community. Implementation of Sharia has wide-spread support. In fact it has been instated in numerous areas in major cities with complete disregard to local law enforcement. The number of no-go areas for police in major cities is growing.
Those are moderate, non-radical Muslims.
Besides, believing ISIS goes against scripture doesn’t make ISIS un-Islamic. ISIS believes the opposite, and they’re no more or less wrong than your “moderates”.
“Hurrblhurr but Christianity…….”no. Let me stop you right there. Christianity has nothing to do with this, not to mention that Christians are and have been slaughtered like cattle even in ““““moderate”“““ Muslim countries looooooong before ISIS or even Al-Qaeda existed. By which I mean some 1400 years prior. Because Islam has been slaughtering “infidels” (including other Muslims) for about 1400 years now and they don’t seem to have any intention of stopping.
Of course not every Muslim is ISIS, and not every Muslim is a terrorist – that’s not the point. The point is that you can’t tell the difference, and the number of dangerous individuals is an extremely disproportionate amount higher than any other group of people. Take a bowl of M&M’s……. Can you see where I’m going with this? Only in this case it’s actually a reasonably accurate metaphor, except they’re not poisonous but explode after gunning down M&M’s and Skittles alike and beheading a few more, while shouting “Allahu akbar!”.
The hate for liberals isn’t because they’re idiots, it’s because their idiocy brings grave danger to everyone else as well. You may say “live and let live”, but does that also count for people who don’t let live if others don’t abide their particular interpretation of scripture? I say no. If you want to let them live, let them live elsewhere.
Yikes! No. Those moderates that harbor ISIS have reasons other than “I think these murderous radicals are a-okay” for doing so. And no, I don’t think it’s just ISIS affiliated muslims that commit acts of terror. There are also Hamas, Hezbollah, Talibans, Boko Haram, the Muslim Brotherhood and so on. Isis and Al-Qaeda aren’t the only ones out there.
Further, Sharia Law isn’t just one specific set of rules, there are various implementations throughout the middle east and Western Asia, some more radical, some less.
And as far as muslims killing Christians, yes, it’s definitely a religion with a violent past…however, Christians also killed Christians. You do realize “faggot” as an epithet for homosexuals is said to come from Catholics burning gays at the stake, right? It does have everything to do with Christians, it has everything to do with religions, because what you’re suppressing isn’t just a group of people, it’s a group of people based on their religion. Which is unconstitutional, no matter what whiny-ass excuses you make that the people who worship the funny God scare you (protip: they worship the same God as the Christians and the Jews, they just have a new prophet). Quite possibly every religion has a violent as fuck past…it’s the nature of the fucking beast. That doesn’t mean it’s okay to go yanking green cards and expelling people from the country based on what God they follow
“The hate for liberals isn’t because they’re idiots, it’s because their idiocy brings grave danger to everyone else as well.“
Arrogance and scare-mongering. I’m sure if I could be fucked I could find plenty of ways conservatives’ idiocy has brought grave danger to everyone else, also.
“You may say “live and let live”, but does that also count for people who don’t let live if others don’t abide their particular interpretation of scripture? I say no. If you want to let them live, let them live elsewhere.”
I knew you were conservative when I followed you but I didn’t realize you were this level of Islamophobe. And I’m not just throwing out buzzwords, that’s the literal definition of Islamophobe. That is almost exactly the same as saying “men are the majority of rapists, so men should be taught not to rape!” I say almost because I know you’ll respond that being a man isn’t a choice yet following a religion is, and you’d be right to a degree. But only to a degree.
I hate the argument that religion is a choice..because while I’m highly critical of any and all religions, I also acknowledge that there’s a level of compulsion/indoctrination to all religions. It’s taught to you while your skull’s still soft and you’re susceptible to fairy tales, and once your brain matures with this idea, it becomes harder and harder to reject it, because bias has set in.
So yes, anyone can reject their gods, or choose to convert to a different faith, theoretically, but if they continue to succumb to the religions they were indoctrinated into they’re no more at fault than a man who doesn’t decide he identifies as a woman and wants to go on HRT. Because compulsion and indoctrination are real.
That being said, I realize your islamophobia is likely a product of the indoctrination of conservative scare-mongering media you consume and also a product of your environment so I’ll just agree to disagree with you and carry on my day. You’ll notice it took me over a week to respond to this because your arrogance and Islamophobia is just so off-putting. Feel free to forego spouting more condescension and ad hominems and just keep scrolling your dash, bud.
reblogging for your first paragraph. IISI is not the only one, kiddos
Is Boko haram not Islamic either
Is it seriously that farfetched to be scared of Islam, though? Because at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if they’re interpreting scripture correctly, they’re still killing people in the name of Islam. They may be small and not have quite as much influence as we give them credit for (ISIS does have a huge amount of influence, besides the point, though), but they do have control and they do contribute to Islam’s state worldwide.
Look at it this way. As a Muslim, it would not have been that extreme of a belief to be scared of Christians during the crusades. I find it very hard to believe all Christians at the time agreed with it.
Just because it’s not a majority and because scripture is being misinterpreted doesn’t mean there’s nothing to be concerned about. (However, also don’t walk around assuming all or most muslims you see are terrorists.)
