This needs to be seen more. Rape needs to flat out stop, but until then victims need to know there’s support for them.
I should’ve done this . Nobody told me this was an option . Fuck …
Important addition: while it’s very understandable, many victims want to shower after the attack. This will destroy or ruin evidence. Please please, as hard as it is, go to the hospital BEFORE you wash yourself.
i like that stimming is viewed positively online but like if you love me with glitter jars and light patterns, you have to love me with rocking, flapping, hair twirling, and chewing. you dont get to pick and choose what kind of stimming you embrace when you get to know a person. you cant just accept my pretty stim things and reject the others. it doesnt work like that. dont forget it.
all those posts like “don’t give yourself bangs during quarantine” “don’t dye your hair” “don’t shave your head” are honestly bullshit this is the Perfect time you’re literally not allowed to leave the house for god knows how long do something crazy who gives a fuck
“You’ll regret it” It’s hair. It grows back. You really hate the color? Just dye a darker, natural color over it. Hate the bangs? Just wait until they’re long enough and cut the rest of your hair to the same length. Or wear a hat. It’s way more socially acceptable to wear hats all the time nowadays. Last time I cut my hair, people didn’t know for a few days because I’m just always in my beanie.
Especially since it’s mostly teenagers and young adults who are doing this and being shamed for doing this. Like. They’re young and exploring their independence and expressing their control and ownership of their own body in a completely harmless way.
Like, at home piecing? Don’t. Those can and will get infected. Stick and poke tattoos at home? That’s permanent and also can and will get infected. Do not.
But just cutting/dying your hair? Go for it. Shave yourself bald if you want. You’re not hurting anyone.
“jealousy is so disgusting” “anger is so toxic” did u know? these are emotions every human has
I’ve always been a fan of an analogy I heard once. Your emotions are like one of the lights on your car’s dash. When one of them turns on, it means you need to check under the hood and fix them. It’s not bad that the light turned on, per se, and it doesn’t always mean something is broken. But what IS toxic, dangerous, and likely to break something, is when you let that light stay on, pretending it’s normal, until that braking fluid finally fails and you crash into someone, or your engine fails completely.
Feel jealous. Feel anger.
Just don’t let it fester. You need to look inside of yourself, find out why you’re feeling the way you are, and bring yourself to a satisfied, stable state of mind. You can look at philosophy, meditation/introspection, religion, or actual therapy, or at least talking to someone about it. You’ll find you’re much more content and happy when you do something about those feelings, and come to some sort of conclusion or resolution.
Hot take, but if you see your baby struggle through five hours of homework and then you get pissy because they drag their feet about doing chores? You need to reevaluate.
Like I’m not saying kids shouldn’t be taught responsibility and shown how to keep their house clean. I’m just saying maybe children get tired and frustrated too.
Like. Your teenager doesn’t have an “attitude”. She’s just had 7 hours of school and then came home to do 5 more hours. Then, her parents implied she was lazy because she hadn’t gotten around to doing the laundry. I’d snap at you too.
