For the other side though: the proposed laws aren’t trying to take your guns. Calm the fuck down. Under the proposed laws you can keep your stuff.

Some people may actually say we need to take all guns, but it’s still a bit of a straw man since most people don’t think that.

Also maybe do research on what weapon the shooter/attacker actually used before proposing restrictions because half the time you guys aren’t even proposing laws that would’ve done anything.

And sometimes if laws we already have were actually fucking enforced shit wouldn’t happen.

But a lot of you guys jump on shit like this without much of a modicum of critical thinking.. “tragedy was caused by gun>>must ban guns” when literally no issue with gun violence is that simple. It’d be nice, certainly, but that’s not how it is.

Parkland students: We want to speak out against the people who let this horrible gun violence happen!

Me: Oh, so you’re marching against the local police who failed to act in the crisis?

Parkland students: No.

Me: How about the FBI who ignored numerous warnings about how dangerous the shooter was?

Parkland students: No.

Me: The people who didn’t commit him to a mental institution even though it was recommended by mental health professionals?

Parkland students: No.

So I was watching March for our Lives and there was an 11 year old on it speaking about gun violence. It didn’t rub me the right way tbh

People that young rarely have gotten political opinions from anything other than the vacuum they live in. Little kids talking politics means nothing to me, other than that they can listen to their parents.

I had the “privilege” of serving a group of “moms demand action” tonight. They asked my opinion on gun control. I told them that I am a firearms instructor and so is my boy friend. That I used to work at a shooting range. That the process of getting a firearm is extensive. That if a kid hurts them self with their parents firearm (i.e. They keep it in the drawer and they find it) then the parent is charged with felony criminal neglect storage of a firearm, endangering a child, and maybe involuntary manslaughter if the child dies. It’s up to the parent to teach their kids firearm safety and that weapons are not toys. None of my guns have ever shot anyone. And then I asked them what new gun control would they like to see go in effect.

Needless to say I didn’t get a tip tonight.

Always knew MDA were full of shitty moms.

They said that it’s better to get raped rather than to defend yourself against a rapist with a firearm, what else would you expect.

Wait- what???

In general they are a disgusting group of hypocrites who use misleading claims and statistics and are generally, as I said, disgusting.

Fucking abhorrent.

Seriously?

@momsdemandaction supports rapists and wants them to be safe.

Hmmm rapists deserve to be shot.

This might be the single best article I’ve ever read on gun violence statistics. Absolutely worth your time, and worth spreading around to counter some of the outright bullshit being thrown around by the other side.

The level of sass from Mr. Campbell is just amazing. This whole thing is 9000% amazing. Guns just aren’t the problem is the TL;DR. They’re not the solution either.
