^^^^ It sucks getting really excited about something, just waiting to be able to tell someone, only for their response to be “cool….” and totally ignoring it so they can talk about themselves.
Even if it’s something as small as a new tv show or a song they really liked, at least give them the time of day to hear them out and let them be excited. I know the feeling of excitement deflating all too well and it doesn’t feel good.
