rich white millennials are particularly weird, obnoxious, and unaware abt their parents’ money and the place in the world said money puts them in by sole virtue of never having been in a place of financial need lmao like the second poverty comes up they get really defensive and are like ‘’yeah well my parents made sure we knew it was their money and not ours… they made us get jobs to pay for our luxuries and outings and trips…’’ and it’s like, must i really etch-a-sketch it out to you that that’s not comparable to going to bed hungry as a child and developing lowkey hoarding mechanisms whenever u do own smth because you fear Having Nothing ™

“Calling a man a woman is the highest insult there is to a man because it challenges their fragile masculinity”

Yes because women love being told they have man like features. Women totally love being told they are built like a dude, have broad shoulders, a hairy lip, big man hands and feet and the like. I’m so glad Tumblr is so understanding

Imagine that you were expected to solve complicated multivariable calculus problems in a typical job interview, even if the actual job did not involve math at all.

Imagine that you were expected to bench-press 200 lbs in a typical job interview, even if the actual job did not require any lifting.

That would be ridiculous.

But for some reason, expecting people to answer trick questions on the spot while maintaining perfect body language is considered normal in a job interview, even if the actual job does not require any social skills.

why does anyone even care about other people doing things that have no negative outcome? like let girls take selfies with starbucks!! let straight dudes wear weird clothes!! let gay people be as feminine or as masculine as they want!! the next time you find yourself getting annoyed at someone, ask yourself “is this disrespectful? is this harmful to me or anyone else?” if the answer is no, then let it go – you probably have bigger things to worry about anyways

Unpopular opinion: it’s okay to write characters showing a certain minority for representation as long as they aren’t a token character. Like Rick Riordan does

Agreed

What do they mean, “token”?

Hmm?

Sorta just a stereotype who’s there’s for diversity. Like a black basketball player called Jamal who and has alot of sneakers, or a gay kid named Jeffrey who likes to talk about fashion and gossips with the girls. That’s the gist of it. Just there for a cheesy fake “diversity”

Boom.

There’s this quote about Asperger’s that I like. “If you’ve met one person with Asperger’s syndrome, you’ve met one person with Asperger’s syndrome. Beneath this label, the variety of personality, of humor, of behavior, is infinite.” I like to think that this applies to all labels and all communities of people. Within the label of gay, bi, black, hispanic, asian, transgender, the variety of personality, of humor, of behavior, is infinite.

The majority, cis, straight, white, they get all of the room in the world to develop their own personalities and places within a story, but the minority is often constrained to their stereotypes. And that, my friend, is fucked up.
