If this isn’t the most apropos summary of Obamas clean energy policy I don’t know what is.
As a fan of birds of prey, I find this very sad. I wonder if offshore wind farms will mitigate this problem.
As a fan of eagles, this is awful
Oil companies are fined if a bird dies because of their operation, why not treat wind farms the same?
Also, I think this will prevent any R&D into how to keep eagles away from wind turbines.
^^ good points
@triss19 windmills r straight up murdering the physical embodiment of america now
You’re all idiots if you think this is “allowing” Eagles to do anything.
FREEDOM DIES AS IT LIVED! FAST AND HARD!
Don’t most modern win turbines spin much too slowly to be dangerous to birds?
I wouldn’t say they can’t kill them but I would say that this is greatly exaggerated.
180 miles per hour.
The tip of a large wind turbine moves at 180 miles per hour.
The tip of a wind turbine moves at the same speed as the fastest bird in flight, in a straight-down freefall dive.
I’ve seen faster
Each blade weighs several tons, so moving at 180 mph, that’s enough kinetic energy to kill a bird just by barely grazing it.
Wait, you all didn’t think environmentalists actually give a shit about the environment, did you? LOL!
The ones making laws sure as hell don’t
Obama admin regulation allows wind turbines to kill up to 4,200 bald eagles per company
