Alphabestiary – Bake-kujira

Bake-Kujira is a ghost whale or whale skeleton that haunts Japanese waters.

“Long ago, a mysterious sea creature known as the bake-kujira (lit. “ghost whale”) used to appear at night in the waters around an island in Shimane prefecture. The thing looked like the skeleton of a giant whale, and it was usually accompanied by a flock of strange birds when it came drifting in with the tide. Later, when the tide started to recede, peculiar fish would become visible in the water around the monster. Fisherman trying to catch the bake-kujira claimed their harpoons passed through the creature as if it were not there.”

Japanese mythology has some of the most bizarre critters out there. This one’s not even that weird by comparison!
Yep, I made it a flying ghost sort of creature so I didn’t have to draw the sea… I’m a piece of shit…
You still got the usual swirly clouds though! you’ll always gonna get those!

why do all goalies have the number 30 or 31 or somewhere in that range

hockeycaptain-deactivated201703:

In the early days, players at positions were assigned a given number with the goalie as #1 and going out from there. This was way back when a player would regularly play the whole game. When they started having more and more subs in games, players would take other numbers but usually never went above #30 because there was no need for it. When the league made having a backup goalie mandatory, the goalies drew numbers from the 30’s because they weren’t being used, and now it’s just tradition.

Playgrounds designed for seniors have caught on in Asia and Europe and are beginning to make their way across the Big Pond. The parks include low-impact exercise equipment such as elliptical machines, static bikes and body flexors and are intended to help promote balance and flexibility. Better balance means fewer falls, goes the reasoning. Another benefit of the senior parks is that they serve as a community gathering spot, combatting the isolation and loneliness some seniors experience. (Source)

Fuck yes. Do this shit. Put it everywhere. Let them have something fun for the love of god. Make seniors happy. Let them feel like kids. Encourage them to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Promote social fun instead of sitting in a room together. And just in case of those falls, put emergency call boxes on location, if they’re public people will use them
