There’s a real-life superhero in Virginia.
As a child, he was bullied for his ADHD
because he sometimes did random things
like crawling around on the floor. Now
he’s known as The Black Widow, a master

Norfolk practicing parkour and free
running. Despite his a multi-tool utility
belt, first aid kit, and retractable police
baton, he avoids violence because he
prefers to talk people out of a fight. Source

i don’t wanna be rude but i don’t think a lot of the people on this site actually know what the definition of being off model is

like the one post that was like “i like overly off model animation better than overly on model animation because with overly on model animation you get this” *on model screenshot* “but with overly off model animation you get this” *another on model screenshot but this time it’s animated better*

can you explain the difference if you would be willing I would like to learn

sure! i think the problem is that like i said, a lot of people don’t really understand what being off model is in the first place, so i’m fine with explaining it.

first of all, a lot of people think inbetweens or just fluid animation in general counts as being off model for…some reason. but inbetweens are there to make the animation look BETTER, and they’re not noticable unless you’re like, specifically pausing to look for them. so not off model. (a good example with a lot of these is the dover boys aka the cartoon that used to be a meme for some reason.)

this isn’t off model either.

this is literally just animating well. except for in a few frames which are…you guessed it…inbetweens….there’s nothing here that looks out of the ordinary. marge hasn’t changed sizes or head shapes or anything like that. so this is still on model.

a lot of people will act like storyboarders’ style differences are off model too as a way to defend being off model, when that’s not really true either. you can actually see storyboarders’ different styles in a lot of animated shows, unless they’re cgi or flash animated or something like that.

now, what being off model actually is.

this is what connie is supposed to look like.

this is an off model connie.

when a character is being drawn way different from how they’re supposed to be, and it’s not an inbetween. this is VERY noticable.

and stuff like this.

(this is right in the foreground.)

and THIS.

when they’re all being drawn very noticeably different from how they’re supposed to look, and it’s not purposefully for like, comedic effect, it just looks BAD.

i hope that was a good explanation. if i worded anything badly, somebody please correct me, or if you have anything else to add that i didn’t, do so. ok i don’t know what else to say here so here’s moving-animated-picture-of-dancing-fools.gif

Hello, Tumblr. See this thing?

It is the best goddamned thing you’ve seen all day.

Say hello to the Infinite Jukebox, an experiment in looping songs. See those curves cutting through the circle? What this bad boy does is analyze the song for similar beats and sounds, then randomly skips between said beats forever.

Yes, you heard me. Forever. With this piece of musical genius, you can literally play the same song for as long as you want – It will create the song that never ends.

Some examples include:

Technologic by Daft Punk

Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley

Sail by AWOLNATION

And if that’s not enough, you can upload your own MP3s to this bitch and it’ll loop those as well.

Have fun, kids.

heads up – you can’t put this in a tab in chrome, then switch to a different tab and forget about it, because it’ll stop. But if you open it in its own window it’ll happily go on indefinitely.

Calling all storytellers! This is real!!!

Free Video course by the creators from Pixar

“Have you always wanted to be Pixar animator? Now that process is a tiny bit easier. The animation studio recently made a number of courses available on the Khan Academy website to help you start your journey – and they’re free.”

The group of courses are called “Pixar in a Box” and include short lessons on everything from character modeling and animation to using virtual cameras. Today, it added a new course into the mix: The Art of Storytelling.

The free course is an exploration into the storytelling process at Pixar. From the course description:

“What makes someone a good storyteller? Storytelling is something we all do naturally, starting at a young age, but there’s a difference between good storytelling and great storytelling. In this lesson you’ll hear from Pixar directors and story artists about how they got their start, what stories inspire them, and you’ll begin to think about what kinds of stories you might want to tell.”

New original 3D animated movie: Ducks.
The secret life of ducks when humans aren’t looking.

Whenever ducks fly south in the winter, they’re actually flying to a big city of ducks where they talk and have jobs and have traffic lights with pictures of ducks in them and every billboard and storefront is a bird pun.

A generic duck guy is a young adult who feels inadequate because his dad is a big broker in the bread stock exchange.

He accidentally reveals the secret life of ducks to a human child, and now he must take her south with him to duck city. On the way they get into hijinks and find out about a big duck conspiracy or something.

I was thinking at first this was an actual movie

It will be if you just give me 3 years and $150,000,000

How many times would “duck” be confused between the physical action and the animal in question?

12 times for comedic effect. 1 time used ironically in a sad moment in the end of act II. And 1 time in the last act when the protagonist has to say something badass when he defeats the bad guy.

This winter, ditch the binoculars and rediscover bird-watching with the hot new movie…….DUCK!!!!

If this post gets 100,000 notes I’ll start working on the script.

Well then…

Let’s get to work.

I wanna reblog this now so that when it gets made I can say I knew it when.
