but tell me you wouldnt wear at least one of these
Is this the equivalent of americans wearing poorly-translated Chinese/Japanese t-shirts around the early 2000’s? And can i please have every single shirt up there?
WHO THE FUCK IS JESUS
My undergrad alma mater had an exchange program where we had an entire class of Japanese university students spend a year at our school studying in English immersion each year. Which was awesome, they were really cool and they loved to socialize with the American kids.
One of my best friends had one of the exchange students as her roommate; she was about four foot eleven and maybe ninety pounds, and she had a passion for huge platform boots and shirts with English slogans on them. She explained exactly that – it was cool to wear shirts with English lettering on them, even if you didn’t exactly know what it meant (this was in the late 90s/early 00s).
Her absolute favorite shirt was black with BITCH picked out in enormous rhinestones. She’d worn it three times before I asked her if she knew what it meant, and she said she’d been told it meant “Like a baby dog, the cutest dog? A really cute girl puppy.”
So I explained to her that it wasn’t quite an accurate translation, and as I elaborated on what it meant, from “female dog” on up to “a name you call a woman you don’t like” and all the reasons you might call someone that, her eyes got wider and wider until finally she yelled “THAT’S BETTER, THAT’S THE BEST! BITCH IS EVEN BETTER THAN CUTE!”
literally who CARES if straight cis men are wearing skirts for ‘clout’!!! I want to live in a world where being gnc is desirable to them rather than one where they make bigoted jokes about it. it’s GOOD that people with the privilege to do so are normalising gender non conformity and i dont give a shit if they have deliberate political intentions or if they’re just having fun you guys are all so annoying
we could be using the tiktok boys to kickstart a movement around men wearing skirts that would benefit gnc and trans people but you guys want ideological purity before u want results
i agree wit this but at the same time a lot of these guys are performing to be gnc in order to attract women and that’s a problem,,,,
is it?
do you think men have never tried to make themself attractive to women before? why is it that you suddenly have an issue with that when they’re not doing so in a socially approved way? Why do you view gender nonconformity as any more ‘performative’ than mainstream, conformative choices of presentation?
This just in, it’s morally wrong to want to look hot
also, let it be perfectly 100% unequivocally clear, the idea that “men are dressing up as women in order to lure them into sex” is an extremely old and blatant transmisogynistic trope to cast transfeminine people as predators and its extremely fucked up and alarming that this is becoming a talking point im seeing parroted over and over again by young people who seem to think this is progressive and pro trans of them
its almost a new decade i say we all start dressing like this
what are my masc options for this style
im glad u asked!
Is there anything sluttier and slightly more homo for the mascs out there or can I just mix and match from all these examples
so I feel like anything goes BUT, and I could easily be forgetting something, but just off the top of my head I’ve got you covered with SOME notable selections
I just wish for one (1) period drama to not show a corset slicing a woman in half with its boning and making her bleed THAT WAS NOT THE PURPOSE OF A CORSET.
First, corsets were not worn in direct contact with the skin, you are supposed to wear a shift under it.
Second, corsets and stays were not meant to make your waist look smaller by breaking your ribs and leaving you out of breath. People used paddings, hoop skirts, and things of that sort to achieve the desirable silhouette. Corsets were a support, and a foundation to make the clothes sit smoother. Cases of tightlacing were not so common.
Third and final point, fashion was one of the only ways for women to express themselves, through colors, accessories, ecc. Tight corsets and latest fashions were often associated with feminist movements and greatly frowned upon by a large part of society.
Y’all have plenty of ways to tell women were mistreated in the past, don’t just rely on old misconceptions, please.
