YOURE TELLING ME ELON MUSK HOSTED SNL AND EVERYONE FUCKING HATED IT????

AND DOGECOIN TANKED BECAUSE THE SKITS SUCKED ASS SO BAD???

I know a lot of y’all just like love to cheer for his downfall or whatever but I’d like to remind everyone that he actually does have Aspergers and that’s why his jokes didn’t “land”. You can hate on his ethics all you want to but it’s bold af for someone to host SNL especially when they have a syndrome that limits their ability to do that and invites ridicule.

I assure you his mental divergence had nothing to do with his jokes missing their mark.  One skit was called Gen Z Hospital and was loaded on nothing but horribly misused AAVE.  That was it.  There was no punchline outside of using AAVE improperly.  That has nothing to do with him being on the autism spectrum and everything to do with him being an out of touch billionaire boomer trying to belittle the generation that most often sees through his bullshit.

He’s also, despite his claim in his monologue, not the only SNL host to be neurodivergent.  Dan Akroyd, former cast member and later host, is also on the autism spectrum and has spoken often about it.

plus it doesn’t look as good as you think to say “he’s autistic so that’s why he’s not funny :///“ because actually we’re hilarious and he’s an asshole.

I don’t understand this sudden resurgence of ‘reeeeee’ jokes happening.

Do- do people just not just know that ‘reeeee’ jokes are an insult made specifically to patronize and mock autistic people? That they aren’t jokes at all? Or are they fully aware of the origin of that “”joke””, and just refuse to stop using it because it makes them laugh, even at the expense of the people they hurt and belittle?

I’m not professionally diagnosed, but I’ve suspected for a while now that I might fall somewhere on the spectrum. I have friends on the spectrum, whom I love and cherish. I have family on the spectrum. I get deeply uncomfortable whenever I see someone- or worse, crowds of people, like in a stream or something- respond with a ‘reeeeee’ exclamation. I can’t even fathom why someone would find it amusing. It’s supposed to emulate an uncomfortable scream of distress, a stereotype that homogenized ASD people under this one behavior because it was seen as the most obvious and annoying to neurotypicals, and was used to dehumanize people with ASD for decades. If you want to take it a step further, not only does it infantilize ASD folk, but anyone who expresses distress in a loud verbal way that is perceived as mildly irritating to anyone in the area, disabled or not! That’s like arguing that a guy yelling out he’s in pain or wants to go home couldn’t possibly have a reason for it or be justified in feeling emotions, he’s just doing it because he wants to ruin your ear drums.

Whoever started encouraging ‘reeee’ ““jokes”” to come back, shame on you. I wouldn’t be surprised if people have picked up on saying it because they’re unaware of the origin of those comments. Everyone’s human, we make mistakes. It’s only once you perpetuate the problem in full knowledge of it, that you BECOME the problem.

Please don’t let your friends make ‘reeeee’ “”jokes.”” If you hear- or see them type- one, stop them and let them know privately what it actually means. If they protest and argue in the favor of using it anyway, well you know exactly how they feel about ASD folks, now don’t you?

The meme also literally has alt right origins. SO you can’t claim to be against alt rights while still using it.

listen you can say “capitalism makes living with adhd/autism really difficult and in a non-capitalist society these things would not be so hard and neurodivergent people would thrive better” without saying “adhd/autism are the biproduct of capitalism and everything you think is a symptom is really just being unable to cope with capitalism” like…… don’t erase neurodivergence and pretend it’s just a social phenomenon.

saying “actually neurodivergence is just made up by a social structure i oppose” is not as progressive as you think it is

an instance of NT ideology shows itself clearly when what autistic people characterize as a strong sense of justice is mischaracterized by NTs as an inappropriate obsession with rules and morality

like seriously wtf are they on

they make it sound like all NTs in comparison are cartoon supervillans or callously corrupt politicians and that it somehow is a good thing

OP is talking about this recent scientific study that dehumanizes autistic people for not accepting bribe money.

https://twitter.com/lisaquestions/status/1325000163597770752

Did allistic scientists seriously look at autistic people having a moral compass and make up a reason for this to be a bad thing? Why? To make themselves feel better?

“Computational modeling revealed that this resulted from unduly weighing benefits for themselves and the bad cause, suggesting that ASD patients apply a rule of refusing to serve a bad cause because they over-evaluate the negative consequences of their actions.”

Translated: Autistic people feel a stronger sense of guilt for immoral actions; this is bad because it makes us feel bad.

This is only showing the abstract, I’ll see if I can get ahold of the whole study and see how stupid it truly is when you read the details.
