I’m glad that the ATLA writers said “you know this man that saw his thirteen year old son kneeling and crying before him, apologizing and humbly saying ‘I will not fight you, father. Please. I’m your loyal son.’ and chose to light half of this defenseless kid’s face on fire in front of an audience? Yeah, no, he’s not getting a ‘redemption arc’ of any sorts. He’s gonna get his ass kicked and the power he used to abuse people taken from him.” That was so powerful and sexy of them.
