*30 minutes later realise that haven’t looked up anything about sheep cuz I immediately forgot and spent the past half hour learning about moths cuz I wanted to know what their hair is made of*

By the way, sheep CAN get sunburn just after they’ve been shaved and a moth’s hair is not hair like ours and is actually more similar to really long scales. Did you know some moths don’t even have mouths? Wild

while it may well be a coincidence, I find vulcan’s response to the car passing by interesting. Instagram put the audio out of sync by just a few seconds but, you can see he ignores the sound of my rats drinking since he hears it all the time, but when the car passes he stops in his tracks and seems to listen intently. one of my past females, tiny, did a similar thing when she heard a car alarm on my street. cool stuff!

As adults, their successful kill rate is 95%, the highest of any animal known. For comparison, that tiny wildcat with the best kill rate of any cat (the African black footed cat) has a rate of 60%; wolves have a rate more around 14%.

Unlike many insects, they are predators both as nymphs and as adults. All predator, all the time.

Their nymphs are among the largest predators in freshwater ponds. Smol but fierce apex predators.

basically dragonflies deserve to be the symbol of the badass, thanks for coming to my ted talk.
