Okay YES John McAfee said a lot of funny things about whale fucking but he also tortured and murdered a guy (and that’s the one we know about) installed a private militia in a third-world country, and did all kinds of heinous shit. He was in jail for a cryptocurrency scam. His life was Elon Musk’s wet dream.
Like, please please please do not fall into the trap of thinking this guy was some sort of benevolent anti-authoritarian trickster. He was just another rich white man who thought the rules didn’t apply to him.
