seriously though, the more covid is moralized by governments the less there will be any actual improvement. hate to break it to you US politicians, but it’s a fucking virus, not a personal malicious attack on you.
like, you realize china was hit hard by covid, right? who the fuck develops a bioweapon supposedly targeted at other countries that worsens the state of their own country in every possible way? if you’re smart enough to mastermind some secret bioweapon would you not be smart enough to control it? this is just the classic “our enemy is both stronger and weaker than us” bullshit used in every war. oh, and you know there are countries without good relationships with china that did a better job dealing with the covid crisis than the US, right? countries way closer to china than the US? you’re telling me a virus magically gave an overseas country far away the highest percentage of deaths? damn I guess these evil scientists discovered how to create diseases that are easier to contain closer to the source while apparently spreading them around the world quickly /s
anyway rant over lol this just gets me heated especially when ‘progressives’ engage in the same fearmongering lately which has already lead a fuckton of rightwing media outlets to take and manipulate their statements as proof the right was correct (if anyone wants me to explain and discuss this I will).
