If someone manages to trick 35 different people into thinking they’re dating, I think it should not only not be illegal, but rewarded by a public medal of some kind

what was he even arrested for

Envy 😔

They unionized.

There’s a cultural dynamic at play here most westerners don’t know about.

A large percentage of Japanese men have just decided to give up on marriage & relationships in favor of a single life with fewer responsibilities & more time for hobbies.

It’s estimated that only 30% of Japanese men are actively seeking relationships. 42% of Japanese men between 18-34 claim to be virgins with no intentions of changing that.

There’s nothing wrong with that on a personal level obviously, but because the percentage is high, it is incredibly difficult for straight Japanese women right now to find any man, let alone a man willing to adopt the traditionally conservative role that the nuclear family in Japan is still heavily based on.

Basically an entire generation of men has peaced out of social life, but it’s not equal, because women’s roles and social value are still strictly defined by their ability to establish a family.

So leading on 35 women into thinking they’re going to find that is much more insidious than it would be in a different culture.
