So many people are mad at me for saying gender is a social construct. And yet none if them can define man and woman for me in a way that’s true across time and culture.

I’m an anthropology major and an animal behavior minor (meaning lots of biology classes) and gender is literally a social construct. Almost every single one of my classes regarding my major and minor have had some point in it where we discuss gender being a social construct and how it varies from culture to culture and throughout human history. In my bio classes we also always discuss how sex isn’t binary either and isn’t the same thing as gender. From all sides gender is literally a fake made up thing. This doesn’t make it not a huge part of our lives and society but it is not a real tangible thing. Gender is undefinable and it is infinite, kind of like art.
