socialistsooner420:

i think im becoming an oklahoma history teacher on tumbler and honestly i dont mind

i can talk about this history of this great state and the union of not white colonists, but poor immigrant europeans, multiple tribes, and all kinds of other bipoc refugee commies who worked together to establish it, and have been pretty much forgotten to history.

i feel like a lot of people aren’t taught about oklahoma or aren’t taught correctly because of so much federal intervention and stomping out the idea that a state full of socialist farmers of all races religions and creeds could coexists together and help build a community together

if you really don’t believe that the south had any kind of progressives or were just all racist capitalist opportunists, i’ll just leave this here so you can go learn for yrselves before i make a 10 page essay about the green corn rebellion. (eh what the hell i might just do it later anyway fuck yall its my blog lmao)

i can talk about Oklahomas socialist roots and how fuckin badass the original okies were for literal days. and i can talk about how despite our current government, okies have learned how to take care of each other and their communities on their own with various non profit organizations, farmers markets, and rewards for local business loyalties (Keep it Local, OK!)

please just dont hate us based on our stereotypes. we were just poor dirt farmers of all races who coexisted and tried to better their lives and secure their futures. feel free to dm me if you want to learn more!
