some of yall really looked at neurodivergent people using infantalizing to describe actual ableism and decided “oh yeah i should call any sort of ND aid *i* dont need infantalizing because obviously the world revolves around my experience!” and it shows

THIS. I get so fed up of people who act like acknowledging disabled people are disabled is the same thing as infantilisation.

It seems to get especially bad in developmental disability circles. There’s so much “Well I’m autistic/have ADHD* and I’m a normal functional adult and super smart, so clearly any DD person who needs help with/struggles to understand certain things is just a liar who could do/understand the thing just fine if they tried!!!1!1!” rhetoric.

(* – Not that autism and ADHD are the only two developmental disabilities, but people on social media act like they are.)
