occasionally, the mini-story that bloggers post before their recipe is actually very entertaining.

listen, I want your recipe, not your life story, but for this one person I may just make an exception

Yeah, that’s a dish I learned about from playing Breath of the Wild! 

And fish meuniere in general was something I first heard/ read about in the Ocarina of Time manga, where Link is fishing and is contemplating what to do with his future catch before he catches a young (pre-Rito) bird-person who’d crashed into the river.  

I’ve never had it, nor even seen it live-action made… 

The increase in video game food, and even in-game cooking and recipes isn’t something I had considered as having an impact in cuisine before this, but I’ve read a Skyrim cookbook and I follow a Stardew Valley fan- recipe blog on Tumblr!

I’m wondering now what kind of accidental culinary impact some developer’s inclusion of a previously obscure dish in a now classic game may have.
