At 2:20am I was awoken by THE loudest double clap of thunder I have ever heard in my entire life, INCLUDING the time lightning touched down 10 yards away from me. I thought something surely must have exploded. Surely a bomb went off. A power station exploded. I held my breath for a few seconds waiting for… I don’t know. A shockwave or something. I looked outside for smoke. The birds are all losing their minds. Sark texted me that he’d seen the lightning bolt that caused it and it had at least a 2 second delay. My entire body is still flooded with adrenaline 20 minutes later. I went to check on the birds, hoping no one had gotten scared enough to hit the ceiling, because they were all honking. Everyone is fine, but Very Upset about this

This is their first thunderstorm, and their mom is a ball of anxiety in normal circumstances, so you can imagine how their night is going and, due to the honking, everyone else’s nights. Including mine.
