Wild junglefowl- the ancestors of chickens- only lay 12-20 eggs per year. Domestic chickens lay, depending on breed, up to 250. We did selectively breed chickens to lay more eggs and produce more meat, in the same way we bred horses to carry us better and pull more weight and dogs to work better with us and cats to be better companion animals. You are NOT doing animal agriculture a favor by spreading blatantly and provably false information and you make it even harder to convince people to come out of their mentality of animal “rights” and understand genuine science and animal welfare. It is okay that we selectively breed animals. Dont lie and say we didn’t.
