toybox2003:

being sick as a child

the taste of cherry medicine dancing on your tongue, laying on the couch while going in and out of sleep, the sound of pbs kids in the background, “where does it hurt?”, the feeling of a thermometer on your forehead and the sound of it beeping, “made possible by contributions to your pbs station from viewers like you. thank you”, hazily waking up in the middle of the night, taking a small sip of grape gatorade, the “sickness” smell, being wrapped in a blanket so tightly you feel sweaty but also have chills, a slight feeling of nausea, trying to draw a picture but barely having the strength.
