Check out this oddball equine skull I just got!

I’ve handled dozens of equine skulls over the years and I’ve never seen one with eyes like this. She’s got huge, swooping brows and eye sockets shaped like teardrops with porous bone around them. Very odd!

She’s pictured with a draft horse mare and a donkey jenny. Horse skulls typically have very nice, round eye sockets. Donkeys usually have what I call “sad eyes” with sockets with a little backwards droop to them.

Can’t wait to get this gal cleaned up! ❤
