I, too, love sniffing an empty cup and imagining how nice it would be to have something to drink.

Literally every half-blood in Percy Jackson is ADHD and dyslexic. It’s mentioned at least a hundred times.

imagine if you were at a gathering and the only beverage available was coffee but you’re a person who doesn’t like to drink coffee. yet everyone keeps telling you about coffee, despite you telling them that it’s not your thing. 

now imagine if this was the same with representation of certain characters. imagine if there was only one popular series which depicts those characters but you’re a person who doesn’t like that one popular series. yet everyone keeps telling you about that one series…

that’s what it feels like to look for representation of adhd in the media. people love to bring up percy jackson, which is not a problem per se because, yes, we absolutely need it among the thin web of representation we have, but it’s truly been years and yet there’s still a clear lack of new characters with adhd. that’s a problem we should not forget to acknowledge.
