Early color scheme and design for Jessie, James and Meowth.  Published in CoroCoro Comics in  April 1997, Team Rocket were supposed to wear black outfits with white boots and gloves, just like the regular gen 1 Team Rocket grunt outfit – a similar look to how they appeared in the Black & White series. Meowth is depicted with beige ears, despite its official game artwork showing it to have black ears. There are a couple of other 1997 instances of beige-eared Meowth that might prove it wasn’t a mistake.
