The virile earth. This is called the Chapeau de Napoleon, Napoleon’s Hat, at the edge of a geological crack separating Les Monts du Lyonnais from Les Monts du Pilat in the Loire region of France. It stands above the town of Janon and access is from a path at the side of the student’s car park of Saint Etienne University Scientific Campus. Both photos are of the rock from different angles.
