Paris Agreement

sassybratt9791:

So Donald Trump has officially announced that the U.S. is withdrawing from the Paris Agreement – an agreement that brought countries together all over the world to fight global warming and climate change, and to leave a better future for the next generation.

Cities and states across the nation are already fighting against Trump’s decision, even Pittsburgh, whom Trump said he was making this decision for.

But try not to worry too much.

As of right now, it is going to take 4 years for withdrawal from the Paris Agreement to be finalized – estimating to take place 1 day after the next Presidential Election.

So if we ban together as a nation and fight to elect someone who would speak up for the future of our country, for the future of our children, there is a chance that we can continue in the Paris Agreement after all.

Until then, continue to fight every day to make our country better. Do your part when it comes to reducing your carbon footprint, and speak up to your local representatives. The 2018 mid-term election still seems too far away, but we can make it there. Don’t let this disgrace of a President ruin all the great progress this nation as pushed for.

Fight. Fight as if your life depended on it. Fight as if your children’s lives depended on it.

Because it does.
