Is it not mandatory? It is here in Canada.

It shouldn’t be.Β

And why not? Standing for your Nations Anthem is a Good thing. Hell we even stand for other Anthems when they are played.

It is here in Wisconsin, we do have a Republican Governor though

Canada plays its national anthem in school?

Yes, at school, hockey games, other sports, Memorial days, when the queen visits, or anyone else of political importance.

I’m canadian and none of the many schools I’ve been to have had the national anthem played wtf

why tf would they force students to do that in other provinces

Yeah, I’ve never had to do that in any of my schools either, except in elementary when we had an assembly. We didn’t have to stand though, but everyone did.

Fash metal is wrong, maybe it’s just my school (the dress code isn’t enforced so it could just be that) but not only are we not forced to stand for the anthem, only teachers stand.

I don’t really know if I agree with forcing kids to stand, but I think (since we’re given reasons to not) we should at least be told why people in general stand for the anthem
