Dialectal materialism is hilariously ironic to me as it’s an extremely dogmatic combination of pseudoscience and a shitty application of poorly grasped Darwinian ideas applied to social events from people who are generally deeply anti religious. You’d have to really inundate yourself in an obscure echo chamber though to think it has leverage in the 21st century though because the general discourse is dominated by similarly quasi religious beliefs in the free market as valuable in and of itself
just realized i can’t read
translation for ppl who can’t read academia speak:
dialectal materialism (a marxist theory/philosophy) is super funny/ironic to op because it’s a combination of fake science, that presents itself as fact rather than theory, and a very poor grasp of darwin’s ideas. these are usually applied to social events by people who are anti-religion. in op’s opinion, in order to think this way and believe it applies to modern day events, you’d have to drown/overwhelm yourself w/ exclusively reading/listening to people who think exactly like you do.
